What happened BackTrack?
Simply so, what is BackTrack used for?
BackTrack Linux is a fine example of a specialized Linux distribution. Its only purpose is to test your network, devices, and systems for security vulnerabilities. BackTrack is packed with every security and hacker tool used by security professionals and professional hackers.
Likewise, is BackTrack and Kali Linux same? Backtrack and Kali Linux are almost the same distros. Backtrack was superseded by Kali linux. Kali linux was developed by the Offensive Security who also developed Backtrack. The difference is, Backtrack support has been discontinued.
Furthermore, why did BackTrack change to Kali?
The team over at Offensive Security have decided to discontinue the Backtrack moniker, replacing it with Kali Linux 1.0. They had this to say about the name change on the official Kali blog: “BackTrack 6″ didn't do justice to our efforts in the past year, and wouldn't convey our new message to our users.
What is black track?
BackTrack. BackTrack was a Linux distribution that focused on security, based on the Knoppix Linux distribution aimed at digital forensics and penetration testing use. In March 2013, the Offensive Security team rebuilt BackTrack around the Debian distribution and released it under the name Kali Linux.
