What does gentleness in the Bible mean?
Furthermore, what is the spirit of gentleness?
Gentleness is defined in the dictionary as “the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered.” In terms of the fruit of the Spirit, the kind of gentleness we're interested in involves showing humility and thankfulness towards God, as well as polite, restrained and compassionate behaviour towards everyone else.
Secondly, why is gentleness important? Gentleness is very important in life because it allows us to explore all that is possible in ourselves, creativity, to perform well and to work effectively with others.
Keeping this in view, how do you show gentleness?
Show gentleness to your children. So the next time your child upsets you, don't respond with anger or sarcasm; again, think gentle. Answer gently. Respond gently. You can still make a firm point, but do it with gentleness.
What does it mean to be a gentle person?
One definition of “gentle” is being “free from harshness, sternness, or violence.” When people are harsh, stern or violent with others, they're coming from a place of weakness. Weakness that leads them to try and control, manipulate, overpower, condescend, criticize, demean, etc.
