How do you clean a lobster's body?
Then, do you need to clean a lobster before cooking?
Any lobster worth cooking should have been kept alive in a tank of salt water (ideally actual sea water) until just before you cook it and requires no cleaning - and for heavens sake, certainly not with soap!
Also, how does Gordon Ramsay kill lobster? From the start, Ramsay goes as far as to tell us what the lobster claws do. He said the left claw is the sharp one, and the right is used to crush things. In other words, keep your damn hands away from the claws. Then he quickly kills it by stabbing it on the cross line and slicing through the head.
Similarly, you may ask, are you supposed to eat the body of a lobster?
The tail and the claws are not the extents of what can be eaten from a lobster. The body and head both contain edible meat. A good amount of rib meat is located between the thin shells of the body as well.
How do you kill a lobster without boiling it?
Freeze the lobster for 30 to 60 minutes, then put it in the pot of boiling water head-first. While the boiling water, rather than the freezer, will kill it almost instantly, the cold will immobilize the lobster so it won't thrash about.
