Do convection oven fans always run?
Herein, why does my oven fan keep running?
If an oven thermostat fails, it may cause the oven fan to run continuously. The high limit thermostat sends voltage to the oven fan as the oven heats up. If the high limit thermostat is defective, it may keep sending voltage to the oven fan after the oven has cooled down. If the thermostat is defective, replace it.
Beside above, can you turn off the fan in a convection oven? Open the oven door during convection cooking to turn off the fan. In some convection ovens, if the door is opened the fan will immediately turn off. It will turn on again when the door is closed.
In respect to this, when should you not use convection?
When Not to Use the Convection Setting The fan becomes a liability around delicate foods that start out as batter and set while cooking. Blowing air on these foods can create lopsided results. Don't use convection when making these foods: Custards and flans.
Why is my convection fan not working?
You want to allow the oven to come completely up to the programmed temperature before the fan begins spinning. If the fan does not switch on once the oven reaches the programmed heat, or never turns on, the fan capacitor may be faulty or blown or the convection motor may be failing, requiring replacement.
