Simply so, is there white sublimation ink?
With CMYK printing (which is what sublimation uses), there is no combination of base color inks that can produce the color white. Thus, white is considered the best apparel color for sublimation, but you can print on light-colored garments, provided you don't need the color white within the image.
can you get white ink? As you can tell from a look at the Pantone swatch book, there is no white ink in conventional printing. The translucency of the few whites that are available makes them unsuitable for most projects and you'll not find many printers willing to go to the hassle without charging you handsomely for their trouble.
Thereof, can you use sublimation ink in any printer?
Any Epson ink jet printer can be used for sublimation. Simply buy refillable cartridges and sublimation ink, change out the cartridges and you have a sublimation printer. Epsons and Ricoh (Sawgrass) printers are the only ones that have the correct printhead for sublimation printing.
What material can I sublimate on?
the only suitable fabric for dye sublimation is 100% polyester, nylon, lycra. spandex (elastane). General rule of thumb is the man-made materials. The material absorbs the ink through a gas transfer process under pressure and heat.
